The majority of Ford Truck owners rarely use their pickups for anything one would consider “extreme.” Mall crawling and hauling light loads are very typical, and often times the norm. But that doesn’t mean your truck can’t handle the roughest of conditions, even if that means navigating the world’s toughest roads to save crocodiles.
The mighty Ford Ranger proves it’s possible in this “Science of Truck” video by Ford Australia. Renowned Zoologist Adam Britton uses his compact truck to explore the wild in pursuit of saltwater crocodiles. Britton isn’t out to hunt them as game, he is working to learn more about the deadly creatures.
That desire to further research leads him down 90 kilometers of unpaved roads to the Adelaide river. Obviously, the ramifications of getting stuck out there are pretty bad, especially while towing a boat. According to the video, his stock ford Ranger handles the conditions without breaking a sweat.
